Reserving a Room: Full-Time Students

Applications for rooms in the Université Laval residences are accepted at any time of year, whether you’re waiting for an offer of admission or already accepted into your program. The fact of having applied does not however guarantee you a room.

How to apply for a reservation

  • Read the Terms and Conditions (PDF), and Bylaws (PDF) of the Service des résidences.
  • Submit your request using the electronic room rental request form for full-time students (English version to come soon) :
    • Start an application by providing the required information;
    • Submit by confirming the email address used;
    • Wait for a rental offer to be emailed to you. Most offers are sent in April for the upcoming fall session and in November for the winter session.
  • When you receive a rental offer from us, hurry to accept it via our electronic form within the indicated timeframe:
    • Provide the additional information required to complete your application;
    • Pay the deposit for the first month's rental.

By accepting a rental offer, you agree to sign a lease upon arrival and to abide by the terms, conditions and policies in effect.

To cancel your reservation, you must meet certain conditions, otherwise charges may apply.

Processing of residence applications

Only complete applications are processed; incomplete requests expire after a certain time and are automatically rejected.

Rental applications are processed according to availability. Availability is subject to change and is difficult to predict from one year to the next.

  • If you are offered a room, you will receive an email inviting you to continue the reservation process. If you do not respect the deadline, your room will be offered to someone else.
  • If no room is available at the time your application is processed, it will remain on hold until new availability becomes available.

Deposit

A deposit is required when you are offered a room. It is part of the reservation process and is essential to accept the offer.

If you are unable to pay your deposit via the rental offer acceptance form, please contact us promptly to discuss other payment options.

Application on hold

Once all our rooms have been filled, only complete rental applications will remain on hold.

Le Service des résidences will contact you as soon as availability permits. At that point:

  • a rental offer will be sent to you to the email address provided;
  • you must respond promptly to our offer in order to accept it.

If an offer is made during the semester, the start date of your lease will be indicated directly in the offer sent to you.
