Reserving a Room: Interns
Applications for rooms in the Université Laval residences are accepted at any time throughout the year, whether you’re waiting for an offer of admission or already accepted into your program. The fact of having applied does not guarantee you a room.
You qualify for a special intern rate if you
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Certify that you have no outstanding debts to Université Laval and its units or to the Residence Office
- Are under the supervision of a Université Laval professor
- Live in residence for more than a month (32 nights or more)
How to apply
- Download the brochure Residence Application Forms for Interns (PDF).
- Read the Terms and Conditions (PDF) and Bylaws (PDF) of the Service des résidences.
- Complete and sign the following forms:
- Intern reservation, standard student room («Formulaire 1»)
- Information and Consent («Formulaire 2»)
- Attach a recent, passport-size photograph.
- Include a deposit covering your first week’s rent or the cancellation charges, if applicable, using an accepted payment method.

Processing residence applications
Be sure to send all the required forms and information. Only complete applications are processed. All incomplete applications will be rejected.
Applications are processed in the order in which they are received.
The fact of having applied does not guarantee you a room.
- You will receive email confirmation if you are assigned a room.
- If your application is complete but there are no rooms available, you will be put on a waiting list.
Deposit
Canadian applicants
By cheque
Cheques must be dated the date they’re sent, cashable on that date, and made out to Université Laval.
Please check that the account number and date are correct and the cheque is signed.
Applicants from outside Canada
By money order
Payment by postal money order must be in Canadian dollars, payable to the order of Université Laval and redeemable at Canadian financial institutions.
Proof of issuance (receipt) must be included with your application forms.
By credit card
Credit card (Visa or MasterCard) payment is accepted only from people living outside Canada and the United States.
Write the card number and expiry date legibly in the space provided on the Information and Consent form. The form can be found in the brochure Residence Application Forms for Interns.
Waiting List
Only applicants who have filed a complete application may be put on the waiting list.
The waiting list is updated regularly and applicants on the waiting list are emailed weekly.
The Residence Office will notify you when you are assigned a room. At this point
- Your reservation will be confirmed by email
- The deposit sent with your application will be cashed
If your reservation is confirmed after the normal lease start date, your lease will start on the day your deposit is cashed and confirmation is sent.
Found somewhere else?
Remember to have your name taken off the waiting list before obtaining a place to avoid having to pay cancellation fees.
